How long, exactly, does it take to run through Naxxramas at level 70, how many people would it take, and omfg can we, pretty please? =D
I want to kill Sapphiron for [Resilience of the Scourge], since I'm nowhere near exalted with Aldor yet.
Of course, if it takes too long and too many people, it's not worth it, but I dunno how difficult it is.
I do remember that we had trouble/fun/a challenge 3-manning Sapphiron on our Vasya-dubbed "broken-ass server", but I dunno if that's representative of the facts.

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 7:06amI think it would still take 25+ people to do Naxx in any reasonable amount of time and everyone would still have to know wtf to do because the encounters are still complicated even if they're tuned for lvl 60s. We'd have to beat the last boss in every wing to open up access to Sapphiron.
That being said I'd love to go.

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 7:08amIt'd be easier to rep up Aldor.

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 7:09amNaxx will also be the "new kara" of the WotLK expansion for lvl 80 characters. They are retooling the loot and the encounters. It's also easier to just get your faction rep up Tim.

Fine, I'll do Aldor. *grumblegrumble*
Weird, though. You did Onyxia with like 10 people. I thought that was the hardest pre-BC boss or something.
Will
Mon, 04/14/2008 - 8:03amOnyxia was arguably the easiest raid boss, or at least she was the first raid boss to be released (she was in at launch, unlike Molten Core).

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 9:56ami did not know this!...im glad tho...naxx was so ridiculous and didnt get any kind of wear from most of the wow population...it wouldve been such a shame if they let it rot...

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 11:01amI know some echo folks were interested in trying Naxx before the expansion. You might talk to Tal or Herr and see if a joint team can be made up. We have been talking on the echo forums about attunment. I'm attuned and I think Kage, Tal and a few others are.

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 11:18amAlso, who the hey is echo?

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 11:51amFor naxx attunement one has to have a nexus crystal or be exalted right? I think im reveared w/ AD so I'd just have to do a few runs in scholo to get some of the rep quests to become exalted?
would like to run strat a few times, rescue the prisioner and get Baron's mount
Druid+undead mount= Cenarius rolling in his grave, erm em dream form
hehehe
If i get the attuned naxx stuff I'd like to go and could tank or dps for it

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 12:06pmWho told you this?
Timmeh
Mon, 04/14/2008 - 12:07pmDunno. I remember people were very excited about it back when I was level 30 though. And the next time I played was after BC :x

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 12:08pmAh, so by "pre-BC" you meant "pre-MC" ... ;-)
Timmeh
Mon, 04/14/2008 - 12:14pmExactly! :D

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 12:47pmNaxx attunement is pretty easy and requires essentially just gold and some AH purchases. I think Righteous Orbs are involved, but that should be easy enough to get.
Naxx is a lot of fun and I would like to try to clear as much of it as possible before WotLK. Yeah, it's going to be retuned for fewer people, so it might not have the same feel. I am so willing to go if we can get people together. =)
However, if it's just to get the enchant, don't bother.
For a successful and painless run, at least 20 people will be needed. Went in there last time with 40 people at level 70 and it resulted in 1-2min boss fights.
Trash can easily be burned down, even with 10 people, but bosses won't be that easy.
- The spider wing will be the easiest since it's easy enough to kill the bosses quickly.
- Instructor will require at least one priest for MC duty.
- Noth can still wipe the raid if decurses don't happen
- Our raid last time ended at Gluth. LOTS of AoE needed for the adds and we just didn't have that. Or experience with this boss for that matter.

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 1:40pmI've never been. I'd like to go.

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 1:54pmCould do a 40-man pug >=D

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 3:34pm40 man pug = lets ramble around the place killing bosses at random :p
although i guess since it does take strat the meandering of this thought won't work QQ

Mon, 04/14/2008 - 5:31pmHEY! Who let Agi in here?
Echo is short for Echoriath....one of the guilds that has some members in Fireside. Also..my other home.

Tue, 04/15/2008 - 1:19pmOnyxia only really requires 3 or 4 people to do.
Molten Core has been completed with 3, 5 would be a very easy run.
Blackwing Lair would need a minimum of 10, because of Vael. The rest of the dungeon would be easy with this number. (wtb [Rejuvenating Gem])
Naxx, I've heard 15 would be a bare minimum, and make a few of the encounters extremely difficult. 20 is a more reasonable number. Even with 40 people, if you're not coordinated or prepared, you can wipe pretty fast.

Thu, 04/17/2008 - 3:08amIt is sad how Blizz just leaves the older dungeons rot. How hard would it really be to just tweak them for 70's and improve the loot? Make them heroic and just do badges... SOMETHING! It'll happen to most BC 25-mans too.

Fri, 04/18/2008 - 7:28amFYI some new Blue posts on this very topic the other day:
A little more information has become available regarding Naxxramas in Wrath of the Lich King, which we would like to share with you:
Naxxramas is planned to be somewhat of an entry level raid dungeon in Wrath of the Lich King and not the hardest dungeon in the game, so things will be a little different from what they are now. One difference is that it will float its way back home to Northrend and will therefore no longer be found in the Eastern Kingdoms.
The developers like having content be more available to players and as such no final decisions in regards to attunement have been made, but the developers also like having special quest lines available to help players be more prepared to face raid dungeon content. It should be said that as an early raid dungeon, there isn't a big reason to block a lot of people from accessing it.
The challenges for hardcore players will remain though, because Naxxramas is a big dungeon that will not be easy to complete all the way through. The hardcore players can push into the higher content from there.
There is not yet much we can say to those of you who are already attuned to the current incarnation of Naxxramas. As mentioned above, things like attunement has yet to be fully decided, so it is still too soon to say if you will be required to go through attunement a second time, or if there are any plans to give titles based on the original Naxxramas attunement.
Those of you who wish to know if The Ashbringer will drop again will have to stay tuned for the next BlizzCast, where this will be mentioned briefly
Tier 3 Armors
We have already stated that we plan to re-use the armor models in the new version of Naxxramas as well so players will be able to get the look they wanted. For players who want the look and the stats of tier 3 armor at level 80, hopefully they are already farming the dungeon for them.
Atiesh
Regarding the Atiesh, I don't have any further details to provide.

I want some T3 before it's gone!

Fri, 04/18/2008 - 7:41amYou should get some stats of Tier 3 armor so you can put it on when you're rage-starved.

Fri, 04/18/2008 - 8:01amI am pretty sure attunement involves arcane crystals. I remember when Naxx was released I made a ton of gold off of this. In the weeks before attunement arcane crystals ran like 30g if I remember right to make arcanite bars with. I had stockpiled a bunch to get some stuff crafted for my warrior and boom overnight crystals went to like a couple hundred gold since everyone needed them for attunement. Greatest wow week of my life I think.
Qyn
Fri, 04/18/2008 - 10:29amIf you're exalted it doesn't require anything, iirc. Otherwise it's gold and crystals, more if you're less rep-ish, etc. I'm about halfway through revered with AD myself.
We could just go do super zerg aoe runs of Scholo and Strat for AD rep. :)
Micah
Fri, 04/18/2008 - 10:41amArcane crystals are cheap now, like 5g, not sure about the righteous orbs though, I think I remember needing those for attunement too.

Fri, 04/18/2008 - 2:29pmDon't worry Qyn, I think they are going to re-use the art from T3... so just tell urself it is.

Fri, 04/18/2008 - 3:39pmThanks for the blue post nate. Tier three are some of the best sets in the game, the priest and shaman are probably my second and third favorite ever, only after the T2 paladin set.
