I have a few things to mention here:

First, regarding spots in this raid, they are first come first serve unless I appoint someone specifically to a task. Kageken has been nice enough to main tank the last 3 or 4 runs for us. The reason that I do this rather than let two tank alts tank the run is that alts need to be geared up. A full clear is much less likely to happen with undergeared tanks (or healers) and so I generally try to have at least one well geared tank and one well geared healer on the run to make things run smoothly and guarantee us 22 badges and a Prince kill.

We have a bunch of new tanks who want to do Kara so I'm trying to give them all chances to OT and get gear, this means you may not get to go with your new tank every weekend. Please don't complain to me about this. 12k hp fully buffed is fine for tanking Attumen, it is not fine for tanking Prince (or Nightbane, for that matter).

Second, regarding loot. I haven't stated this before but I generally try to go with the "roll if you want something but once you've gotten a piece of loot you aren't getting another one unless no one else needs" method of loot distribution. You're still free to pst me for loot even if you've won rolls already because if you're up against someone else who has also won rolls then I will just random between you both. I am more than likely not going to take "how much of an upgrade" an item is into account when looting because there are so many alts in greens on these runs that that could quickly become unfair to the non alts and better geared players.

Third, regarding swapping out characters for various bosses. I've been letting people do this on the last few raids, because I like to keep everyone happy, but this also *really* slows down the raid. Our last raid took 4.5 hours to fully clear Kara. So, these are the rules for swapping out alts:

You may swap in an alt if:
1. It won't affect our chances at downing the boss
2. No one in the raid minds (that you're bringing in an alt to roll on gear that they might want)
3. It won't slow the raid down more than 5 minutes. This generally means no swapping in after Nightbane.

Exceptions to the rules above:
1. Swapping in alts (or mains) in order to down a boss (ie, Primal grabbing Cargie for Illhoof, Ain grabbing Daos for extra dps on Prince)

Fourth, if you don't think you'll be able to stay for the entire run, please don't sign up. These raids are full clears and thus take anywhere from 3.5 to 4.5 hours. If you have to leave unexpectedly it's your responsibility to find a suitable replacement. I don't have the time to do that in the middle of the raid.

Fifth, as raid leader, I am claiming the next Helm of the Fallen Champion. Call it raid leader prerogative. :)
