I lived in Oakland for about three months in the fall/winter of 2005 while working for the Oakland Ballet. After that collapsed I came back to Florida. I really should go back and visit.
Well you can see other things while you're here if you'd like. I used to volunteer for the Seattle Public Library. I gave tours of the downtown building after it opened sometimes. It's the most awesome. It's actually been a little while since I've been there. In addition to the fancy schmancy one downtown, we have all kinds of neat libraries. There's the old school Carnegie ones that were built at the turn of the century, and then there are a lot of newer neat ones that were recently built through the Libraries For All program. I really like the one in Beacon Hill
I've never been to the underground, but I've always heard it's the coolest "touristy" thing to do. It's also right near my favorite book store in Seattle, The Elliott Bay Book Company.
