I loved the original Team Fortress. That game was balla as hell. I'd be totally up for playing some TF2 with you guys. Let me know if I should run out and purchase this :).

I played a little TF2 but quickly realized I need to take time to figure out how everything works before I go and play with a bunch of random people online again who just shoot me a lot. I've never really been very good at those games unfortunately. The trailers are definitely great.

Matthew's been playing lots of Portal. Either HL episode 1 or 2 was hella bugging out on him though, some video drivers update or something made the sound start being wonky. I dunno. I'll direct him here.

We still haven't gotten Xbox Live because we're STILL bitter about the Xbox not shipping with wireless. Matthew refuses to pay $100 for a wireless converter thing. I really want to get more Rock Band songs and rock out with friends in different parts of the country.

The only technique I've ever used with Spy, which I've never seen anyone else talk about but that works very well, is walking backwards while disguised. No one expects the enemy to be walking backwards at them =P

Consuls had much more flow than Pc ones though, made for more rhythmic fighting using the dual analogue for movement and aiming
SOCOM was beautiful and quite challenging (the first and second) online and, compared to UR III the style of combat was much more engaging, instead of just running at the enemy and blasting the heck out of em one had to choose their fights, spend minutes stalking another player, setting up a nearly flawless trap, or, in the heat of battle, having to pull a rambo and hopefully taking out one or more enemies
Timesplitters was mroe of an arcade game with a bijillion features, mroe or less run and gun,
but with a mapmaker that has gradually been evolving,
characters that span time periods, dimensions, and genres,
challenging maps that require precise aim and knowledge of all the enemies
and a disco-dancing cortez <.<
The PC has the power to create games that are boundless in potential, but all in all it's the game developers that have the say in how good a game is (and what good means)
Both PC and consul have great shooters, RPGs, and whatnot
plus have varying styles dealing with the gameplay and mechanics
but neither PC nor Consul are the entirety of the game's essence

I play shooters on both PC and consoles. I've played Halo 1-3 on the consol, and 1-2 on the PC. Also a large number of the Rainbow Six series for both. Also the occasional solo game like Bioshock. I prefer the PC control/aiming systems to that of the console, but for online play I find that the % of people modding/hacking/altering the PC version of the game always gets to the point of ridiculousness. It happens on consoles but not in the same quantity. I would not play Bioshock on anything but my 360 though, 46" Bravia and my super comfy chair trumps 22" computer monitor and computer chair every single time.

I dunno why, I just never got very into TF2. I used to love games like UT when playing with coworkers. The whole online play thing gets pretty tiresome for me though. At least in WoW you can get away from the retards by going and doing your own thing.

I don't get what the point of cheating to unlock achievements is. You get to not learn your class, and are handed 3 extra weapons that you have no idea what the fuck to do with, making everybody on earth hate you. Fun!

Yeah, I love using cheats for single player, if only because watching AI try and figure out wtf you're doing when you noclip around them is the best thing ever >_>

In other news, I got the last item last night! It's kind of stupid and useless! Yay! It makes you invincible for a few seconds, but you can't use any items or pick up intelligence, and you're really vulnerable right afterward.

You get them for unlocking the Milestone achievements for the classes that have them (Heavy, Medic, Pyro, Scout), and those in turn you get for getting a certain number of achievements (10 for Milestone 1, 16 including Milestone 1 for Milestone 2, 22 including Milestones 1 and 2 for Milestone 3).

I killed 24 (26?) today! I think the demos only got me 15 times, maybe 10?

Soldier wins in a 1v1 with demo given moderately good play from both sides, so I think it's kind of biased for soldier (hence why he's winning by a bunch). Soldier is way way way cooler though, so that's alright :D
And yeah they made a level with bots running around. I haven't actually tried it yet but it's supposed to be pretty customizable and stuff. :D

My friends and I in the biomedical engineering program at ASU all clustered around a lap top the other day to watch this. I think this is amazing, and I'm totally pissed that I didn't invent it. Fucking 4 days to treat severe burns, and no visible scarring! I can't even understand how badass this is, and how simply implemented it is.
