I just got back from seeing the second film based on the Millennium Trilogy and loved it. The casting is nigh perfect. I won't say more than that but if anyone else is into the series I'd be down for discussink.
I highly recommend reading the novels first and then checking out the films. There are apparently American versions (starring Daniel Craig and Ellen Page, reportedly) in the works but they will likely be pale shadows of the original Swedish versions.

(although I do like Mr. Craig, and Ms. Page, I'm just leery of Americanizing the series)

Fri, 08/06/2010 - 7:58amI'm almost done with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo! I spent a few hours last night getting into part 4 and hope to finish the book today. My mom bought the other 2 (hornet's nest and fire) and is working on the 2nd one. I'm hoping to see the movie sometime although certain parts sounded a bit intense. It's great to hear you're enjoying them!

Fri, 08/06/2010 - 12:10pmi just read this, then Dl'ed the SVEEDISH (I must type that in all caps) trilogy, watched the first one, then came back. I liked it! Pretty satisfying murder/mystery. I think the subtitles were written by some internet dude though, because they were filled with . . . hmm, what's the engrish equivalent for Sweden? Englfjorden? I don't know, it had a lot of it. At one point there was an email being displayed on the screen that said in English "Read it and weep!", and the subtitles popped up and said "Read it and then you will cringe!" Made me lol.
