I probably won't be playing much multiplayer for a while, at least until there's a bunch of good custom maps and such. Never was a fan of the normal multiplayer stuff because I am terrible at it.
I downloaded a cracked version that's only good for single player and the challenges. I'm definitely going to buy the game but will probably wait until it's a bit cheaper since I don't really have time for multiplayer right now anyway.

I spent the majority of my time on those Use Map Settings ones too! Did you ever play Hive D? (one where you defend against ATTACKING mobs? I think it was one of my favorite defense maps)

You're probably going to be waiting a while, as Blizzard games tend to not drop in price very much. The Diablo battlechest is still like $40 o.o
And bram, to add just in SCII, no, I think that is all you need. With the realID thing you can see what game the person is playing and talk to them cross game.

As far as the email goes it's b/c I'm a bit lazy. I think i actually can change the student number thing (zsrp12) to anything I choose and still have yet to do so. :\ But I guess it'll only be 1 more year.

Anyway, by "wait for a while" I mean wait for them to release all three together in some kind of battlechest type shit I can buy all at once for, hopefully, a small price break.

You can play all races multiplayer, it is just the single player campaigns that are being rolled out one at a time.
The idea is three full-length games for each race, rather than one game with a third as much gameplay for each race. You have to wait, but ultimately there is more game than it would have been were it all at once.

*grumbles* with all this time they've spent on the campaign I was hoping for better dialogue. Still the plot is fun and the characters are not substandard so it's quite enjoyable. The maps are really varied and the choice for difficulty is really great (as well as the way they alter the various difficulties with harder mechanics and better AI). The DOTA map seems pretty sweet too although it seems like more of the custom maps are based off of WC3 maps rather than SC2 ones (but I've only grazed those maps so I could have had a bad sample size). Anyone hear of a Heaven's Last Defense map yet?
I guess though, back in 1999 when we started college and everyone discovered playing Starcraft on the college network, things like the legality of your copy weren't really all that relevant...
Matthew was down in Mountain View for work when it was released, so he had to wait a WHOLE FOUR DAYS before he got to play.
Back when TF2 first came out that was my main complaint about playing, not being able to get better either by playing people who don't kill you half a second after you spawn, or bots. Apparently they've got bots now. I may go check'em out.
We also have enough people who play now that we could probably get a team going. Could be lolz.
They also have a training mode and a sort of targeting practice as well! One can also spectate live games and hopefully absorb data about conbat interactions and ways to fight the opponents as well.
