Amazing game, one of the best platformers or really any video game I've played in a long while...maybe it'll come to steam, I know Braid did.

Just a few days after its release, Limbo has already become the center of the “are games art?” debate. I find this “debate” to be more annoying than it is constructive, but just for kicks, here’s my two cents: Art is, by definition, a man-made interpretation of thought, and by that definition, anything man-made is art. The empty Coke bottle on my desk can be considered art. Ergo, videogames have artistic merit.

I just beat Limbo for the second time yesterday morning. Probably the most atmospherically impactful game I've ever played. Just an amazing game all round. Also, fuck some of those puzzles.

and I agree with your assessment of art and video games. if you consider the fact that video games exist for the sole purpose of influencing human emotions in various ways it seems silly to consider them being anything else but art

I'll third the sentiment of those questioning games as not an art form to be silly. As far as quality goes the medium still has a long way to go but also opens many new corridors that books and movies cannot reach. It'll also lack traits of those two mediums too. Still, I wish more people decide to turn to video games as a means of storytelling and eventually become undisputed in their literary value. As with other mediums, it still should have some senseless fun (erm...guns!) too.
