I saw him in the transition one and I think he'll do well, but I'm always saddened by the change. I remember being a bit disappointed when David Tennant became the Doctor, but that subsided quickly!
I didn't watch it before David Tennant, so he's the only Dr. I've known! Like I posted on FB, I liked the new DR more than I thought I would. I really like his side kick this time too.
Yeppers! Quite a few good one-liners tonight too! Those Venetians really know how to go out with a bang.
Still, I'm pondering what caused the cracks in reality. In Flesh and Stone the Doctor mentioned time running out which reminds me of the End of Time where he encountered the enfeebled Master. Perhaps his nemesis is still alive and survived the return of the Time Lords?
Still, what clues do we have so far? Memories being erased, or "consumed" by the cracks, places that shouldn't touch do, some sort of Pandora-thingy, River's possible murder of the Doctor (or another Time Lord? She mentioned in being more than human and has more knowledge than the Doctor when piloting the Tardis.), and the Silence which is apparently a greater threat than Weeping Angles or Dalects.
But it is also connected to Amy as well. Perhaps she's the one who "opens" the pandora-thingy and thus causes the connection between her, the loss of time, and a very dehydrated skin of the universe?
*WaRniNg*
Maybe, but I have a feeling that he'll probably be around for another season or two. It seems more like River is gonna do something bad, but it may be for the sake of helping to stop the time rifts or something.
Ha HA...MORE SPOILERS =) Is anyone reading this but us brams?
My husband thinks that Rivers may be the Doctors daughter.....
Yes! That idea crossed my mind as well. She definitely seems to be more than human and his daughter did seem to have that egregious outlook. I think it'd be best to go over the planet of books one and rewatch the weeping angles ones to analyze their dynamics to negate romance and observe a daughter relationship.
It is also weird that the doctor actually has a daughter and then the writers decide to throw her out and not mentioned her ever again. So, perhaps it is River.
Um, well I'd suggest starting with the Christopher Eccleston ones since they revamped the series there and made it easy for people to get into. (Although, I've seen very little of the ones before that season so that's more conjecture with a good ends even if the means isn't accurate). After that season you'll have 3~4 more seasons of awesome space and time adventures! You can look for the seasons on iTunes, buy them on e-bay (probably), and I've seen the box sets at Bestbuy. I really hope you get into it and greatly enjoy it!!
Ariwyn, simply put I'd say Fezzes are cool! :p
Also, the Doctor pulled a Bill and Ted/Cortez in his escape, but it makes sense considering the universal constraints seemed to have been lifted. I'll probably watch the last episode again sometime but I was happy how things turned out (even though a great deal of it was to be expected considering the fact that it is constrained to being a show and not some sort of reality free from continuation and such).
Bram - I knew he would get out of it some how simply because it was just the season ending and not the SHOW ending. I'm glad Rivers lived. I like her. I am also really glad Amy and Rory finally got married so the DR can stop having "relationshipy feelings" for her and move on to Rivers.
Lol, aye. "Mr. Pond!" Rivers is still too much of a mystery though. She knows how to fly the Tardis (taught by the doctor), kills someone, is wrathful, and probably isn't nearly as much of a threat as the Nothingness. Still, I wonder what/who River is. That last bit I wrote was sorta a useless tangent >.<
