Apparently Nintendo's doing something right...

Also ridiculous that Super Mario Bros. 3 is still in the top 10 of that list.

Mike

What! SMB3 is only #7 on that list? It should be higher up the list.

Oh, I remember the craziness around the SMB3 launch, and I did take part in it. And damn if it wasn't a really awesome game. I'm not surprised it's still up there in the charts.

The big thing that made me blink on this list was that Nintendogs did so well.

Nintendogs beat out all the Pokemon games. O_O

I always thought that Pokemon was bigger in the US than Japan, but I can't find any evidence either for or to the contrary. Anyone know?

*facewall*

Also the page for Diamond/Pearl has numbers indicating that it sold better in Japan than in the US. 5 million sold in Japan by the end of 2006 and 4.27 sold in the US by the end of 2007. (if I'm not reading it wrong)

I dunno how that compares to other game releases but I think it's pretty darn popular. Plus they have fucking aeroplanes.

They're against pokemon evolution? Wow, I guess they REALLY don't understand the theory of evolution and how it's based on species as a whole and not on one creature evolving. Anyway, the way pokemon go about it is in a manner that insects folly of various life stages. On the other hand, it's a free laugh to think about people getting morally riled up about the game. XD
