I'm not too techincal with computers, but what's this sound like to those with more knowledge?
(Vista is an OS, right? And Linux/Ubuntu/etc?)

This is a "competitor" to windows, mac os x, and linux derivatives. It looks like they're trying to develop something that is fairly targeted to the "netbook" segment, as opposed to handhelds (for which they already have android next to iphone/windows mobile (lol)/palm whatever), and high end computers, which will probably always be windows dominated.

It sounds like Google is working on a new operating system (ie Windows, Linux, etc) that will be targeted at people whose primary use for computers is web browsing. Looks like it's being developed in parallel but separately from Android, the other OS they're working on which, from what I've read, is supposed to be more cross-platform than oriented around a specific niche (web browsing).

Ok. So it's not gonna be too optimal at playing games?

Google is being smart as hell and only trying to edge in on Microsoft territory where the company is weak (developing tech, etc). I think it's hilarious that Microsoft's approach is entirely opposite (Bing!!!!!!!)

Bing isn't that bad, actually. It's a pretty fun way to get porn too, with embedded previews.
