Corvids are pretty notorious cannibals- they eat the young of other, smaller birds. Don't know if that has any pertinence to this topic. Also not sure if cannibal is the right word. Specieble?
Yeah I don't think eating babies is really that rare. Their fault for being delicious! Mmm.
For your consideration: Smart animals tend to be bigger on things like bullying/murder for the hell of it and wacky sexual behavior, and these birds don't seem to be into that. Woo!?
