Blizz needs to come up with a way to keep people interested in older content. It's pretty sad that all the lvl 60 Azeroth instances are sitting around 99% unplayed by anyone since they just go to Outland when they hit 58. Even just making heroic modes of older stuff with better loot would be *something*.
The name might be real, but I'd be willing to bet the rest of it is fake. Either way, once the new expansion comes out, Outland will go the way of the dodo. C'est la vie. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a good way to make old content worthwhile.

depending on itemization, if the level cap only goes to 75, it seems like it would make the level 70 raid content more doable by the masses, especially if it was actually necessary to complete on the way to the new raid instances. seems tricky, but doable.
They really need to give people reasons to go back to MC, BWL, AQ 40 and Naxx since that content is now rotting and with the release of another expansion in a year of so Hyjal and BT would suffer the same fate.
Releasing new content when the current content is still very fresh is just a pain in the arse for people still working on the older stuff.

You know, I think Wrath might just sucker me back in. I should have more time by the time it is released as well. I was always far more fascinated by the Lich King end of things than the Demons.
Thoughts on how to make the old content more playable:
(I mean, I have to admit, the old stuff is REALLY good. I also find it sad that no one else plays it quite so much.)
Change the focus of the game. Currently, the focus tends to be on leveling, phat lewt, etc. Even if someone isn't focused on such things, it often becomes about levling to keep up with friends, etc.
If a bit more wiggle room was included to make lower level/players without the phatest lewt in the land more viable in uber groups, then the older content might be worthwhile. I mean, why are you going to spend your time running BRD or scholo when you can get much better gear in Outlands?
