Yeah, I could literally go web browse for 30 seconds while grinding with the paladin around level 50-60, come back, loot and find something else to kill excruciatingly slowly. Least interactive ever.
Hmmm....those abilities look pretty bland--pallies need some sort of Zeal move or Vengence (I think that's the one?) from Diablo....also the spinning and whirling hammers of light were pretty fun too
Or perhaps give them Hands that actually help in battle and just toss dps/healing/tanking buffs on ppl
(kinda like a RDM's refresh in FF XI--but hopefully more interesting)
XD. Brambles, things looked very different for paladins when that was written. Now paladins have a bunch of useful interactive buttons, but back then you would basically put up a seal and autoattack something until it died.
Still looks kinda "Zzz..." since the majority of their abilities are seals/judgements/blessings/hands/auras
blessings and auras are probably not too fun to utilize--hands would only be in emergencies (although I'm not sure if I've seen any hands really being used much) then the judgements look like a small amount of interactivity assimilated into auto-attacks
But i guess the judgements added with shield abilities and consc. would make tanking more interesting--at least it's probably better than maul/mangle/swipe/dem roar/barkskin/lacerate combinations
Yeah, it's still not as mashy as, say, Death Knight or Warlock, but at least there's decisions you can make, like whether you want to put down a consecrate or which judgment to use. Back in the day consecrate was a pretty deep holy talent(wtf).
I've tried playing paladins and wasn't very excited about them. Same with druids. For some reason I love warriors. And enjoy a few of the other classes. I haven't really even tried a warlock past lvl 10. Kind of weird considering I've been playing this game for over 4 years. You'd think I'd have a high level character of each class, but no!
They gave us several new attacks in the past year or so... in TBC, ret pallies were given Crusader Strike, now they also have Divine Storm. Prot pallies got Holy Shield and it didn't change like Shield Block did, and they also now have a shield slam and a Hammer of Righteousness. As prot I have enough things to do in my rotations that I don't always consecrate, it takes me a couple rotations before I have time to fit that in. I use Hand of Salvation all the time on huntards who aren't feigning. Hand of Protection is the old BoP, still useful when I remember. Hand of Sacrifice I use on the MT if I need some extra mana and to save them from a beating. It's a lot better than it used to be.
Warriors need something like Hand of Salvation to use on those over zealous dpsers. >.> I suppose Vigilance is the next best thing.
I actually got a paladin to about 30, that was Xev. She sat around for 2ish years until I deleted her to make the deathknight who I don't play and may or may not sit around for another few years.
Yea protection warrior pvp is actually fun now too. I'm still hard to kill but I can actually do damage and I have 4 different ways to stun people plus a self-Hot on a 3 minute cooldown.
In other news, I specced TG for the weekend! Who wants to tank some heroics for me? :)

Tue, 02/17/2009 - 7:38amTheir lack of interactivity comes from a bunch of passive abilities? or what?

Maybe I'll start another paladin!
Or a warlock.
Or you know, play an alt who is already at 70.
