Or maybe God created the universe by establishing the laws of physics (or establishing something that established the laws of physics) which set things in motion. But then there is the "God does not play dice with the universe" statement to consider too (but I guess being omniscient would allow one to know how long it takes for the human race to evolve therefore it not being chance...or perhaps "chance" was only created after everything was set in motion)
Eh-it'll probably be a while before science and religion/faith/spirituality could mutually merge
Religions are based on faith beyond reason and science is based on observable phenomena. These things are pretty much mutually exclusive except in crappy sci-fi.
I would suspect those 14 PhDs aren't in science fields.
Well the whole concept of evolution is not supposed to be concerned with belief--so scientists would generally have a "no opinion" on it--they'd probably say that they think it is a highly supported fact
-whoops! >.< thought you meant the op, not the other graph >.< (again)
A lot of people believe that god created the universe and/or the earth, and then evolution happened by itself. But he set it in motion.
Basically this. I don't see why they have to be mutually exclusive. Religion for the most part is a blind faith in a higher power. With minimal to no proof you could argue till your blue in the face if "God"(s) actually exist.
Here is where I get into my theological belief and I don't mind people not sharing the belief since mine is a composite of several religions.
At one point I believe there only existed "Good" (AKA "God" or "The Void") and "Evil" (AKA "Hell" and "Hades". They are on a perpetual cycle where each side is attempting to expand. At one point "Good" (in my own theory consisted mostly of primal energy) exploded resulting in the big bang theory. That energy mixed with "evil" and created the universe. By nature everything has good and evil in it , and that proves true with humans as well. We are inherently created with 50% evil and 50% good. As we go through our lives our actions slowly change our composite of energies. Eventually when you die your body will decay and the good and evil energy will return to the source. Over the span of "time" everything with rot, decay, and breakdown till only good and evil are left. When that happens this cycle will repeat itself.
and that my friend(s) in essence is the crazy belief I have. I know it wasn't needed, but it allows for evolution and all the laws of science to fit in there nicely.
Sounds fine! I was just curious as to what you actually meant, since the statement "creationism was used to start evolution" didn't make any sense to me.

I will admit though I personal believe that creationism was used to start evolution.
