I got detention for debating the existence of evolution to a teacher. I just felt her logic of proving it to be a fact was faulty, not that I didn't agree some sort of evolution happened. I think that class I spent more time out in the hall , then in the class room.
I also got detention for learning slipping in German swear words into my class projects for German. I tried to claim I thought they meant other things, but the teacher didn't buy it.
I also got detention before for putting down my career goal was an assassin. I don't know why considering I did a ton of research on the subject. They somehow thought that the detention would give me time to think about my goals in life.
I still think it would be cool and very profitable to be one.

hmm....the closest thing I did relative to this was putting "flammable at room temperature" on the "about me" for my chem class...no response on it though :(
I got detention for breaking my hand on a kid's nose in 8th grade, and for ruining a kid's bracers in 4th grade, and for getting into a fight in 9th grade.
I also got detention for telling a teacher to shut up, stop threatening to punish us, and "do it already."
They tried to expel me in 8th grade for putting another kid in the hospital. In my defense, I had a roomful of witnesses who could attest to the fact that he started the fight, and I didn't really start to wail on him 'til he broke a clipboard over my head.
Fortunately a roomful of witnesses provides a pretty strong alibi, and despite the kid's parents raising hell the school board couldn't do any more than suspend me for a while. I wonder if it happened in today's school climate how much differently it would have turned out.
I know that when I was in high school I almost got expelled for physically defending myself from unwanted sexual advances. Kid groped me during class; I planted my elbow in his gut. There were witnesses, but it didn't help. I don't think he got in trouble, even though by school rules, we were "equally at fault," whatever that means. The teacher said I was the aggressor. :P to that.

(actually that would be pretty interesting to witness an elbow cause that sort of dmg...hmm maybe if one had metal spikes on their elbows....)
i think my school dissuaded ppl from physically defending themselves, but only if that was their only option
I got 5 hours of in-school suspension in 6th grade for getting tackled to the ground by some dude. I did say something about his mother... but he stole my D&D book first.
yeah...the worst thing i did was getting into fights 9more push&shove sorts) with my friends in elem school
and then that other minor happenstance when I was Castro....
(oh and the time I went staggering through the halls in my zombie costume...but that was the end of the day and school was letting out...actually startled a few ppl, but most were like, "wtf!?!"...but I did ask my Eng teacher if it was ok to wear it, so not really a action of misbehavior)
Oh yeah! That was elementary school though. And it was a math team.
I walked up to them after we won by like 1 point, and was like "Hey, is it against the rules to say IN YO FACE!!"
And apparently it was against the rules. Oops.
