I was suffering internet withdrawal; the house is still in disarray, but at least my precious intarwebs are back. I spent Labor Day weekend moving boyfriend's stepbro into our house... of DOOM. Nothing is where is should be. It's the Twilight Zone here.
How was your Labor Day Weekend? Anything cool happen? While I was gone? Did anyone eat nifty things of tastiness? Or breathe a sigh o' relief? Or do something awesome or absurd or some such?

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 6:30amI walked about the campus searching for food
Narrative
Tue, 09/02/2008 - 6:50amBut all the food services were CLOSED, and it was a nightmare, a wasteland of foodlessness!
Or am I extrapolating too much here?

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 6:55amCranky hit 67. We saw Tropic Thunder. Had steaks @ my aunt's place. Not a bad weekend overall.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 9:37amOver the past several weeks I've been repainting my new rental property to a more tolerable selection of colors. This weekend was hopefully was the end of the madness, but alas I made the sad mistake of having my OCD kick in and convinced myself repainting all the molding was a great idea. Needless to say I have 200 sqft more to go , but the place looks pretty amazing (hopefully my rent wont go up when the lease is up ).
Also I ended up fixing 2 ground issues, installing 2 ceiling fans (Which I deducted from my rent), and installing a new sink (deducted as well).
Other than that I went to the Fetish Carnivale which turned out a pretty good crowd this year.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 9:44amLets see...BBQ'd, disastrous Heroic Steam Vaults, blown timers on ZA runs, completed the UBRS key, Ran MC and they were squishy...Made it halfway through BWL(some people have never experienced that content) leveled Doc to 62 and halfway to 63, did 20 Arenas, probably did about the same amount of AV...Helped my son get to 60....uh...watched the hurricane coverage....pretty full weekend

Tight weekend though.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 11:12amI went to beach swam in the ocean, got loaded at a BBQ and earned around 13,000 honor points from AV.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 11:24amI helped my mom figure out her new sewing machine. It involved green reindeer, lots of explaining things like what a gigabyte is and yes it can hold more than two pictures, and wondering who in the world thought combining sewing machines and computers was good. I saw National Treasure when it was on TV with my dad, and my mom did a number on her hand with one of those awful pop top soup cans. She's ok now though. Um, and we had burgers and hot dogs Sunday. That's about it. Oh, and I just finished the Secret Life of Bees for the second time.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 11:43amI went to NYC to hang out with my friend Gabe. We went on a cruise around Manhattan, while KID KOALA was playing on the boat. That was pretty awesome.
Then we went up to Simon's Rock with some other friends of Will, and scattered some of Will's ashes on the rock there. That wasn't 'awesome' per se, but we had a good sending off, I think. We drank some wine, and poured some out for him. Then I pointed out that the forest just gained +1 spirit <_<.
Then on Labor Day I had to get Dragan back, so I drove from Simon's Rock(western MA) to Pittsburgh, and then from Pittsburgh to DC. Woo!

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 11:51amHoly shit.

the cookies were a success (although the first batch...there was no real non-stick substance on the pan

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 3:41pmI went to Red Robin for the first time in about fifteen years (I had avoided it because they gave me a rotten tomato on my burger). I had an expensive burger. I then hung around Barnes and Noble for a while and went and looked for bamboo. Then I made a new character in Arcanum.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 4:00pmWe hung out with the baby, took her to cheesecake factory, grilled some burgers and visited with grandpa.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 6:45pmI am addicted to Red Robin's BBQ Chicken Burgers. I think my heart can only take going there however like 3 times a year.
As I posted about elsewhere, I was at PAX, along with like, at least 60,000 other fucking people. I don't know how Seattle held them all.
Matthew made a new friend though:
Mostly, I enjoyed having time to hang out with friends I don't see nearly often enough.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 11:15pmBoating, cuba libres, boating, swimming, cocktails, boating, cocktails, boating, swimming (au natural by moonlight), boating, improvised snacks.
Sleeping, biking, eating (Taste of Madison), beer, biking, double feature (Cloverfield, Be Kind Rewind).
Dead computer, boating, summer drinks (monona lemonade: Beam, muddled spearmint leaves, ice, lemonade), brunch, boating, beer, band (wandered in on dodgy blues rock), swimming, boating, grilling (dry rub BBQ chicken), movie (The Bank Job).
Verdict: Awesome weather, sunshine, fun. Two thumbs up.

Wed, 09/03/2008 - 5:24amIs Matthew covering his eyes because he's shy of photos, or because meeting a Beholder's gaze does wacky things to your soul?

Wed, 09/03/2008 - 6:01amProbably the latter, Timmeh.
I want a giant beholder statue in my living room! :)
Narrative
Wed, 09/03/2008 - 8:29amThat sounds like so much fun! I must admit a bit of envy.
Beth! I want a beholder for my livingroom too! Only, that's 4th edition abomination art... I'd have to use older pictures as a model. On the other hand, ho can you resist a giant beholder? Beauty is in its eye...
@ Keroth: What is the more tolerable selection of colors? Also... Fetish Carnival? That sounds shiny...
@ Verisa: Are the reindeer green in their entire? And ouch, ouch, ouch, soup cans. I'm really glad she's okay. Slice just the wrong way with a steel can lid, ouch ouch ouch...

Wed, 09/03/2008 - 9:30amXD you ruined my mental block...now the inner side of my skin is crawling
(mainly just below my right shoulder, on my arm for some reason)
Brian
Wed, 09/03/2008 - 10:58amBasically the colors were as follows:
Living room : puke green to one cccent wall of red and three walls of oatmeal
Bedroom: nautical blue to two walls Cchocolate , two walls oatmeal
Bathroom and Laundry Room: bright cranberry orange to a cool gray (the real color is called raider gray).
Kitchen: canary yellow to white to compliment the soft blue counter tops.
I also repainted all the Victorian molding from a creme to white to really bring out a modern/traditional look
The Fetish Carnival had plenty of shiny objects and was pretty fun. The highlight of my evening was when I was able to cover two girls with hot wax, drop by drop.
Also other features included suspension with hooks in the back. Followed by them being whipped while hanging in mid air.
A person having people walk on them with their face shoved in glass, and then allowing people to staple tips to her.
A person was fire dancing followed soon by fire flogging . Also a couple people were fire eating.
My favorite game was where a girl was tied to a pin wheel with over 30 clothes pins tied to various places on her body. For every clothes pin you knocked off you got a coupon which were used to be in raffle (paddles, crops , and so forth)
There other fun things and I can't wait for next year. In just a few weeks is the Beyond Vanilla Convention. I'm super excited.

Wed, 09/03/2008 - 4:35pmMe and Garry (boyfriend) went to Jeremy (Skyviannes)'s house so he could fix his laptop, then we went to Chicken Express and talked about WoW, then went back and waited for crap to load and talk more about WoW. Computer seemingly fixed, we went home, watch some weird movie called Immortel, slept, woke up, went to Garr's house, got Sonic, played with the rabbit, played WoW, did some other stuff that I can't remember, deemed the computer fixed and came home.

Wed, 09/03/2008 - 9:03pmAh my weekend was pretty fun. Went to an anime convention here in Portland, hung out with some old friends, made some new ones. Got 6 hours of sleep in 5 days. When I got home Monday night I slept for more or less 27 hours straight. That was crazy. o.o Pretty much not going to be doing that one again.
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures but I'll post some up when I get a chance to go through other peoples.

I enjoyed it but its been a few years since i saw it- Oh! what is that one anime movie about the little kids, who don masks and enter a deserted city to play a race game against the demons that currently inhabit the city?
I remember seeing it on Adult Swim like 3~4 summers ago and can't think of the name...Ru-something...but i could be wrong

Thu, 09/04/2008 - 8:28pmThe main dude has Horus as a spirit patron, which is a type of metaphysics you can pick in the table top game I play, Witchcraft. The movie deals with it really well. Basically, this deity chooses you to be their soldier whether you like it or not. <3

Sat, 09/06/2008 - 8:41pm@ Livetta: The reindeer were just the outlines of reindeer, but yes, the outlines (all there is) are entirely green. Sort of a forest green, on cream fabric.
