it's the best service i've ever paid for. i just recently canceled my account after many years because i'm no longer employed and i have to watch my bills, but i really didn't want to. if you watch movies then there's nothing else quite as good. i would have to say that i've never been quite so satisfied with a service as i was with netflix. so yeah, totally get it (and no, they're not paying me to say this).
Their selection is amazing, as my friend Izzy in New York has showed me. He timed the arrival of the old Spiderman cartoons with my visit, and we spent late nights/early mornings watching that... I am impressed with it, and I'd get the service if I watched movies more. But I'm not a sit-still-without-interacting-for-long-periods-of-time kind of person, so movies except for The Princess Bride, Rocky Horror, or The Dark Crystal (i.e. childhood favorites or things which have call lines) are not for me.
I agree the selection is amazing and once you start becoming a regular user the suggested titles works pretty well.
Only downside is that you have choose your movies at least a day ahead of time (most of the time 2 days) . When it finally arrives you may not necessarily be in the mood to see that genere of a film. Luckily though they have instant view which has several titles (mostly older stuff) that can usually keep you satisfied in case those emergencies.
I get anime through netflix all the time. I just finished up the series The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok and was pretty disappointed how it felt forced ended just as it was building some good steam.
Also I found a downside to netflix. The browse trailers requires microsoft silverlight on your browser , which is complete BS.

Tue, 09/02/2008 - 6:56amI've never used it but my friends who are movie fiends and don't want to bother with downloading torrents use Netflix.
