For those you unsure whats happening here: A paladin is fearing a lock who is in demon form! About time!

I don't get it.

Lol that's great.

Paladins in pvp are always being chain feared with nothing they can do. The picture shows us doing a 180.

Incorrect, I believe the paladin in that screenshot is pulling off a Frontside 50-50 Stall.

All I have to say is that if this goes through then us 'locks damn well better get some way to stun rogues.

All combat at level 80 will be decided with the flip of a coin.

Destruction seems to have a few stuns...and felguard too?
U also have...you know...fear...and the aoE fear...and the life-stealing fear
I mean if they cant kill you...who can?
Oh and a succui coould seduce one...then you could fear it
or you could "Detect invisi" or paranoia to see those pesky rogues

Mike

Its about damn time...

It all sounds good, but in actual combat details like cast times tend to be problematic.

I'd just like to not spend another whole WSG stunlocked by a pair of ganking Horde rogues w/ a hard-on for 'locks. :P

If you're getting ganked by two of any class you're going to lose without a fight. :)

When it's two-on-one I've usually lost, but not always and very seldom without a fight. Only against two rogues has it been so one-sided.

I think I've had a few wins going against 2 ppl, but mainly b/c of skill/gear (i think)
It is fun having my Eng goggles and pouncing on horde rogues though (when they are stealthed)

Oh, and how of terror for affliction locks is insta cast w/ talents, right? or a minuscule .5sec?

Demonskin's picture

Demonskin

Howl is insta-cast if you're deep enough in the Affliction tree to put two points into it (Imp Howl is tier 8). However that usually also means you're UA spec, which (UA being a pretty poor spec for PvP, other than maybe in arena against other casters) probably explains why it doesn't come up very often in this context.

Let me clarify. You said ganked. As in, jumped simultaneously or consecutively by 2 rogues. If I got charged by a warrior, and then another right after the first, I'd die before moving. If I got feared by one lock, and then another after trinket, I'd die without being able to move. If I was sheeped/nova'd by a frost mage, and then another after cloak (if I didn't just cloak and run away), I'd get nuked to hell before being able to do anything (any sort of offensive ability, anyway).....etc. If I get cheapshot out of stealth by a rogue, and then another drops garrote or chain cheapshots me, I'll die before I get a chance to move. It's pretty typical.

Getting the jump on a rogue (or any class) and then subsequently getting counterjumped by a second player of the same class is different than having both players get opening shots on you before you can react.

I frequently win 1v2/3s on my rogue when I'm prepared for the fight and get the opening on one player before the others realize that I'm there....but I've seen mages, warriors, and even huntards do the same kind of things.

Also,
