If I were you, I would chill out and read a book while everybody's busy NOT PANICKING. Either that or drive to the 7-Eleven and buy Brambles a cherry Slurpee...
The word of the day in Urban Dictionary is "Bats in the Cave" (technically a phrase, but whatever). This term describes the "nose goblins" that thrive in one's nose hair.
...so check out the rant written by that guy Dennis on the problem of America.
Some of the highlights:
"I have a theory: I think we're far less evolved ourselves."
"...that's the problem with America. You can't tease anybody."
"I read now that gay people don't even want to be called gay anymore. They now wish to be referred to as Asian."
"...all Asians are gay."
"it was a joke. Walk away from it. Let it go. It never happened."
"It was a comment on how pathetically neurotic we've all become over our own little piece of turf. "
"For Christ's sake there's a billion of you, I know somebody's fucking out there, okay?"
"Hey, you think you've got an ax to grind?"
"I know we consider ourselves to be very nineties creatures..."
"I think in a deep gut level we're scared shitless. We live in a madhouse and it's brought into our living rooms on a day-to-day level via CNN. And we see things that we probably aren't equipped to even vaguely get our head around. Children in Somalia . . . the atrocities in Bosnia"
So what's the deal with this craziness anyway? I see what the man is trying to say, but why say it? Does he need attention or do people need a theory ar a remedy.
(I really would have brought Brambles that Slurpee if my dad's car had not run out of transmission fluid and forced him to take the one I would be driving...)
I mean, I'm doing the same thing here, sort of. Just blowing hot air in asking why people are so crazy. But I have a good excuse: I'm just bored. Maybe Dennis was bored too. Just pissin' in the wind. (That was yesterday's "word of the day" apparently.)
...So I've been reading "Brave New World" (someone needs to tell me how to do italics on a mac), and in the foreward, Huxley describes the Utopian society of applied biology and social science as a "horror" that may be "upon us in a single century."
Why is this kind of Utopia so horrible? Zen Buddhism, Christianity, and many basic teachings of politeness and etiquette teach us that we should abandon our worldview from the perspective of the individual -- that is, be selfless. Culturally, we have always ditched the pains of living by getting high on what was yesterday's opium, is today's wide array of substances to imbibe, inhale, ingest, and inject, and will according to Huxley be tomorrow's "soma." What if everybody started playing WoW in their free time, worked hard for the well-being of society, and sexually, as the book puts it, "belonged to everyone else."
And what if we were biologically separated into castes? I could be perfectly happy as an Epsilon minus or an alpha Plus. Maybe pouring alcohol into a growing child's blood surrogate goes against nature, but I think we crossed that line as a species when we learned to create fire, farm land, build structures, and lay down written law.
What worries me though is that people were apparently frightened of the Brave New World back in the 1930's, but that utopia seems pretty tame to me. Doesn't happiness matter more than individuality? Individuality was and is a sin according to many. If I were to agree with "many" would I be a monster in Huxley's book (er... "view" I mean)?
What is happening to the "individual?" Is his population growing or shrinking? Have there always been the same number of him? Will there always be? Will he or can he go extinct? If he did, what would that mean? Would it be the best thing for humanity or the worst of tragedies if he did?
ok so you know the movie commercial for Pineapple Express, I like the music in the trailer...but when I went to the myspace page for the movie sound track I didn't find what song it was....so THOSE OF YOU WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO (Ninety) please go find that song for me. Kthx.
I fly like paper, get high like planes
If you catch me at the border I got visas in my name
If you come around here, I make them all day
I get one down in a second if you wait
Sometimes I feel sitting on trains
Every stop I get to I'm clocking that game
Everyone's a winner now we're making that fame
Bona fide hustler, making my name
All I want to do is BANG BANG BANG BANG!
And KA-CHING!
And take your money
Pirate skulls and bones
Sticks and stones and weed and bombs
Running when we hit them
Lethal poison through their system
No one on the corner has swagger like us
Hit me on my banner, prepaid wireless
We pack and deliver like UPS trucks
Already going to hell just pumping that gas
All I want to do is BANG BANG BANG BANG!
And KA-CHING!
And take your money

happiness shouldn't be greater than individuality, if one cannot express themselves how can they be happy? and what is happiness, the void or sadness? and cannot we reach higher levels of happiness through all of life's troubles, toils, successes, and failures?

Individuality could never be extinguished, for even if all external differences were abolished, the person's own mind has a limitless depth in which to be itself and even in the subtle consciousness individuality would fight strongly to exist, and manifest itself
then again...who truly wants to live in an utopian society? and if there is a true utopian society out there...it is either the one we have been living in since we first took breath, or the end result of billions (and trillions?) of lives have lived and shaped for the future generations
