We went and saw this tonight at the theater, it was quite good. I would recommend it. The music was quite good as well. It's anime though, so Vas would be a hater.

Oh, Wenatchee trip cancelled. Apparently my uncle has other cooler people visiting this weekend, so I might be about afterall, especially if the weather is crappy. Now I have to buy more cherries for a much more expensive price per pound than free. Tears.

Paprika was great, I saw it at the Kabuki in SF on one of our raiding nights :) Satoshi Kon is so great at these psychological thriller thingies, it was awesome just watching the images and story unfold.

WhisBOOM

Yeah the imagery was awesome. I think it worked especially well because it involved the dream world, and we've all had dreams that really freaked us out at some point.

I saw it tonight. Thanks for the recommendation, guys!

WhisBOOM

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!

I sort of felt like the plot development wasn't continuous. It would slow down for a bit then rush ahead. The spurts and sputters of the tempo left me uneasy. I also felt like the motivations for the villains weren't as clear as I'd have liked them to be.

Maybe I'm too dumb, but I don't really understand what happened.

I did enjoy the animation and the music though. The parts of the story I understood were good too :)

maybe ill d/l it...ill definatly get the ost as that is probably alot easier to get a hold of...i was a big fan of perfect blue...i thought that movie was great...but i doubt ill see this one unless i d/l it because its 4hrs to the nearest movie theater that plays it +_+

Freakin' Florida. Too many oranges and old ladies, not enough anime.

so i just got the ost...and wholly fuckballs its by hirazawa susumu, who did the ost for one of my favorite animes of all times berserk!...ive actually been searching for alot of his older stuff for a few years with no avail as he is not that popular to english audiences so nothing ever really gets encoded...im glad though to pickup some of his newer stuff...his music is very...unique ;)

Uh, some of us haven't finished the series yet, thanks, appreciate that, /golfclap.

h8.

I don't think it ruins very much, but I sincerely apologize, I don't always think things through as much as I should.

WhisBOOM

Interesting, it won't let me edit my comment that contains the somewhat spoiler. Because Toast quoted it maybe?

I agree with how the villian weren't that detailed out. Though I did find the speed to reflect the dream like reality it was suppose to mimic. The usage throughout the film of constant dualities was quite interesting especially when it came to the end.

yeah, kinda. a crazy dude is trying to kill her and all kinds of weird psychological shit is going on. that's actually one of my favorite animes.

It was on Ani-monday (too l8 to watch it now w/ classes) a few months ago, was an intteresting movie but then again not my cup o'tea, anyhting that pyschological that onvolves layers of realities kinda put me off-balance(uneasy)
I didn't quite get the ending where Misa(is that her name?If so how the heck did i remember it!?) is in the car. Wasn't really able to tell what she was thinking, kinda need it clarified

Janet and I (and Rew for most of it) finished Escaflowne a few weeks ago, an oldie but a goodie. We're now watching Naruto, which, though retardedly popular, is actually pretty well done.

What episode are you on of Naruto . I've taken a break at 168 . Way too much filler!

Paprika <3 Such a good movie and I love the OST.

As for Naruto, while I do like the show...dear god in heaven don't watch the filler. Like 100 episodes of it.. <.<

And shippuden is getting DBZ-like with the length of their battles. /anger

<3 Escaflowne. Story and I watched it all a long time ago. Naruto is interesting, but it's far too stretched out for me to even consider watching the whole of it. I'll settle for spoiler websites and maybe some manga. Or the movies.

It seems like the best ones are really only around for a single season or a fistful of OVA episodes.

We're on like 95 I think.

I saw the Escaflowne movie a summer or two ago, liked that,
Favorite anime shows: FMA, Ruroni Kenshin(spelling?), Death Note, Trinity Blood
Not favorite but still like alot: Coyboy Bebop, Outlaw Star(saw that series a loong time ago), Ghost in the Shell-Stand alone complex, Blood+, Bleach, Naruto, Yu-yu hakiso(spelling another language is not my strong point, even in my own language it's bad), and i need to watch more of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumia (friend telling me to watch it) and I can't rememebr the rest

Wish I had more than just the season of Tri-Blood but thsoe season packets and movies are hard to find or are just too expensive for a college kid

<3 Cowboy Bebop and GITS too!

I loved Outlaw Star too. I'm trying not to watch Blood+ until I see the movie I suspect it was based on, which I haven't been able to get a hold of yet.

The movie and the show are really different, only 3 of the chars are the same (Saia, david and carrol)
